    Why work in the U.S.A?

    In today’s competitive economy, work experience is equally important as one’s qualifications. During your study at college, it is important to gain valuable work experience, which will add to your profile. Global internships abroad prove to be very fruitful to many students as you grow and learn about real-world skills, engage in cultural opportunities and learn different languages, which would make your resume stand out from the rest.

    Doing an internship or gaining work experience in the U.S.A during your study adds to the essence of your resume making it second to none. There are plenty of job opportunities available in the U.S., right from scientific research to business and marketing. Students from all over the world prefer to gain work experience in the U.S. is because the country is safe, the people are friendly and there are a plethora of options to choose from when it comes to job opportunities.

    Here are a few tips on how to make your American Dream come true:

    Find a job that interests you
    Never hold back from applying to as many companies as possible. It is very important to make a good first impression, especially with the human resource officer of the company you are applying to so the possibility of you getting the interview is high. When you’re at the interview, you can convince the employer of how skilled you are.

    A good resume
    All jobs are applied online today. So it’s very important that your resume is up to date and convincing. To apply for a job in the U.S., you need to have your basic resume and cover letter and be creative when creating your resume. It is essential to maintain a one-page resume with several important keywords. You want your resume to stand out. It should ideally include your education background, professional and soft skills. Make sure you make a good impression by mentioning how ambitious and driven you are in your resume and cover letter.

    Follow Up
    After you send your application make sure you follow up by asking if they’ve received your application and about the status of your application.

    Interview
    Make sure you dress formally and maintain good body language throughout the interview. Speak clearly and confidently. Do your research about the company before you go for the interview. It is important to know what the company does as it shows you are interested in the company.

    Thank you letter
    After your interview, make sure you send an email to the employer as this shows professionalism and interest towards the company. The employer is more likely to remember you, as this would have a positive impact on your image from the employer’s point of view.
